About

Based in Dallas, Texas, Hike-ALOT was born from a desire to help day hikers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas (ALOT) make the jump to overnight backpacking. As hikers and backpackers ourselves plus also being instructors at the Texas Survival School, we constantly meet day hikers who really want to take the next step but just aren’t sure how to take that next step or aren’t comfortable taking it alone. After numerous comments like “I’m so jealous because I would love to have adventures like that but don’t know how”, we decided to lend a hand.

Hiker / backpacker safety is paramount to what we do so expect a strong emphasis on that area and we do not sacrifice safety for the sake of cutting pack weight. Additionally we assure that all of our staff are not only CPR / AED certified but also Wilderness First Aid certified.

Additionally we subscribe to the Leave No Trace philosophy and strive to leave the smallest footprint possible while keeping everyone safe. Each of us also holds certification in it as well.
