Shake Down Hike (FREE)
Have you done the Intro To Backpacking class and feel like you are ready to hit the trail? We will review your plan and assembled gear then put your set up to the test during this short day hike. While on trail we will do deeper dives on multiple topics from the pre-trip planning class as well as cover new subjects such as safe river crossings, ascending / descending terrains, and trail first aid options. This class will last approximately 6 hours depending on travel speed and be prepared to walk up to 10 miles on flat terrain with your pack.

Overnight Backpacking
Recommended Donation Per Adult $125
It is time to put the parking lot behind us. With nothing but our packs, we will venture off on an overnight adventure that provides more than vistas and valley rivers. This guided trip will involve deeper dives into land navigation, securing food at camp, trail cooking, overnight site selection considerations, and more than a few photo worthy views. The class will begin with us meeting at the trailhead Friday evening where we will spend the first night. We will hike roughly 6 miles Saturday before setting up camp on the trail. Sunday morning we will then be hiking out another 4.5 miles before returning home. NOTE – Completion of BOTH the Intro To Backpacking and the free Shake Down Hike are REQUIRED to participate in this trip.

K9 Wilderness First Aid
Price Per Adult $50
If you adventure with a K9 companion in areas where emergency veterinary care is not easily accessible, this Wilderness First Aid class is a must. The 4 hour class consists of the following:
- Taking and understanding your pet’s vital signs
- Performing emergency triage & assessing your pets condition
- Emergency restraints and transportation of your pet
- Providing emergency first aid to your pet
- Items for consideration for your pet first aid kit

The Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED course equips students to recognize and care for a variety of breathing and cardiac emergencies involving adults. Upon successful completion a valid 2 year digital certificate for Adult CPR/AED is issued.

Wilderness First Aid

Offered Through Texas Survival School
Designed for scouts and scout leaders, outdoor enthusiasts and anyone who works or spends time in remote environments, this course teaches advanced skills to be used in emergencies when help from professional first responders may be far away. Based on the Boy Scouts of America Wilderness First Aid Curriculum and Doctrine Guidelines, this course aligns with OSHA’s Best Practices for Workplace First Aid Training Programs.Prerequisites: Must be at least 14 years old and hold current adult CPR/AED certification.
